Bowls, bowls, bowls, bowls . . .

Five Powderhorn folks got together and decided to host an empty bowls. Our goal is to promote art, feed the hungry and promote the common good. Potters make pots, cooks make soup. People come to our event, choose a handmade bowl, make a free will donation, and enjoy a soup meal. Attendees take home their new bowl which reminds them there are bowls, in our neighborhood, that need filling. We turn around and give the donations to organizations that directly feed the hungry. It’s a beautiful circle. Think globally, act neighborly!

It’s early on Tuesday and I’ve been knee deep in bowls for a while now. This Friday is our Empty Bowls event! THIS FRIDAY!?!! There’s so much to do. We have had wonderful businesses donate supplies for our event. Those donations need to be picked up. Pots, and pans, veggies, tablecloths, bread, butter the list goes on. Meanwhile I’m juggling finishing 150 bowls. The kilns are running and I’ve thrown them all, I just have to trim them and glaze them, Oh My!
Please come! There will be 1,000 bowls to choose from, wonderful bread, nummy soup, and beautiful people!
